Tax Careers – Recession Proof
Many candidates ask us what is the tax market like? Well, it’s been hit quite hard and we went from working on over 350 live vacancies in June 2008 to circa 170 in March 2009 which shows you the market is not as buoyant anymore. However a career in tax still ranks as one of the Top 5 careers to have in a recession. The Telegraph newspaper (Click Here) has Tax Managers as one of the Top 5 jobs to be in whilst in recession, so it’s not all bad news, especially as areas such as marketing and PR have seen average cuts in staffing levels of 39% compared to tax that has an average redundancy rate of 11%.
